CME Organised by Sports Branch under Extra-curricular committee
The Sports branch under Extra-curricular committee of SDM College of Ayurveda, Hospital & Research Centre, Udupi in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) successfully organized a National Level Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 24th March 2026 (Tuesday).
The event witnessed participation from students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and sports enthusiasts, focusing on integrative approaches to sports injuries using Ayurvedic and modern medical perspectives.
The CME commenced with a formal inaugural session attended by several dignitaries, including Principal Dr. Mamatha K.V., Vice Principals Dr. Niranjan Rao and Dr. Nagraj S, Medical Superintendent Dr. Jayakrishna Nayak, PG Dean Dr. Shrikanth P, UG Dean Dr. Prithviraj Puranik, PG Associate Dean Dr. Rajalakshmi, Dean Extracurricular Committee Dr. Ramadevi, and Associate Deans Sports Dr. Sudheendra Moherer and Dr. Mohammed Faisal.
Expert talks were delivered by Dr. Madhu G.R, Principal, Alva’s College of Physical Education, Moodubidire, Karnataka on topic “Essentials of Sports and Fitness” and Dr. Sree R. Nair, Assistant Professor, Department of Shalyatantra, SDMCAH&RC, Udupi on “Sports Injuries in Ayurveda.”
An interactive session was conducted by Dr. Kochutresia and Mr. Aneesh, Physical Education Teacher, engaging participants in discussions on sports health and fitness. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Mohammed Faisal, compered by Dr. Meghana, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sushmita and refreshment.
