Glaucoma Awareness Week

On the occasion of Glaucoma Awareness Week, the Department of Shalakya Tantra will be conducting Glaucoma Screening for early detection and prevention of vision loss.

We request all departments to kindly refer patients above 40 years, diabetics, hypertensives, patients with headache, family history of glaucoma, long-term steroid users, and those with vision complaints for screening.

 Screening Includes:

• Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Measurement

• Optic Disc Evaluation

• Visual Acuity Assessment

• Anterior Segment Examination

• Gonioscopy (if indicated)

• Visual Field Testing (if required)

 Why it is important?

Glaucoma is a silent thief of vision. Early stages are often asymptomatic, and timely screening helps prevent irreversible blindness.
