An Awareness RallyonWorld No Tobacco Day 2026
On 30-05-2026 on account of World No Tobacco Day, II BAMS 2023-24 BATCH students, NSS unit in collaboration with Department of Agada Tantra actively participated in the rally, organized to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption. The event aimed to educate the public about the risks associated with tobacco use and promote a healthier lifestyle. The rally was held from SDM INSTITUTE OF AYURVEDA AND HOSPITAL, BENGALURU to Kumbalgodu circle marching through the streets, carrying placards and banners with anti-tobacco messages. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who chanted slogans and distributed pamphlets to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption. Tobacco consumption is a significant public health concern, causing millions of deaths worldwide each year. Quitting tobacco can greatly reduce the risk of developing tobacco-related diseases. Awareness and education are crucial in preventing tobacco use, especially among youth. The World No Tobacco Day rally was a resounding success, with our college students and NSS unit playing a vital role in promoting awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption. The event served as a reminder of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and the need for collective efforts to create a tobacco-free society.
