Empowering Orchid International School Children Via Health Check-Up Drive
Bengaluru, December 18, 2025: The Department of Kaumarabhritya (Ayurveda Paediatrics), SDM Institute of Ayurveda and Hospital, Bengaluru, organized a student‑led basic health check‑up workshop for 28 children of Class 6th and 7th from Orchid International School, Kengeri, on December 18, 2025, at 10:00 am at the SDM Ayurveda Hospital.
The participants, students of Orchid International School, were taught to measure vitals such as blood pressure, weight, SpO₂, pulse, and temperature, as well as examine signs of dehydration, assess abdominal girth, provide nutritional guidance, and receive first‑aid training by department staff including Dr. Girish Kumar S V (Associate Professor), Dr. Srilakshmi (Associate Professor), Dr. Priyanka and Dr. Pravitha (Assistant Professors), along with Dr. Manjunath (Assistant Professor, Shalya Tantra department). PG scholars of the department actively engaged in guiding and supervising the students. Dr. Anitha M G (Academic Dean) and Dr. Poornima (Administrative Dean, SDMIAH) monitored the proceedings.
The program was divided into four groups (A, B, C, D), each supervised by a group in‑charge, and all attendees successfully acquired the health‑check skills, making the workshop a fruitful community health initiative.
