SBS School students visit SDMIAH

In order to know about Ayurveda and healthcare, students from SBS School in Kengeri, visited SDM Institute of Ayurveda and Hospital (SDMIAH) campus today (November 8). The department of Kaumarabhritya (Ayurveda Pediatrics) of the SDMIAH received the 70 high school students accompanied by Teacher Mamatha. Students participated in interactive sessions at the Anatomy Museum and had insightful explanations about human anatomy, various anatomy models, including detailed exhibits illustrating the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems, Life-size models of organs and body systems, providing a hands-on understanding.

Dr. Gururaj, Professor and Head, Department of Rachana sharira, Dr. Dipti, Associate Professor, and Dr. Sajina, Assistant Professor, guided the students. Students also explored the Herbal Garden under the guidance of Dr. Poornima B S, Associate Professor, Department of Dravyaguna, and Dr. Divya, Assistant Professor, learning about the significance of Ayurvedic herbs. In the Herbal Garden, students learned about various medicinal plants and their uses, Ayurvedic herbs and their applications, and the importance of plants in traditional medicine. Additionally, they visited the pediatric department, where Dr. Priyanka, Assistant Professor, facilitated an engaging session showcasing the department’s activities. The students interacted with department staff including Dr. Bharathi (Professor and Head), Dr. Reena (Professor), Dr. Girish, Dr. Poornima (Assoc. Professors), and Dr. Srilakshmi (Asst. Professor).
