EMPOWERING MOTHERS: BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS TALK

On the eve of world breastfeeding week, to create awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and promote best practices, Department of Kaumarabhritya, (Ayurveda Paediatrics) conducted awareness talk at Kaniminike colony Anganawadi Kendra on 05.8.2024 between 9.30 am to 10.30 am.
A team of esteemed expert comprising Dr Srilakshmi (Assistant Professor) and Dr Girish Kumar S V (Associate professor) with PG Scholars Dr Nivedita (II PG scholar) and Dr. Meghana V (II PG scholar) visited Anganawadi centre to collectively share their valuable insights.
Dr Srilakshmi delivered an informative talk on “Optimal breastfeeding and mastering breastfeeding technique” while Dr Girish Kumar S V shared insights on “The power of breastfeeding: Benefits for mother and child”. The event was well represented by ASHA workers, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The breastfeeding awareness talk was a successful event, empowering ASHA workers and Anganawadi beneficiaries with knowledge and confidence to promote and support breastfeeding in their community. The talk received positive feedback from the audience.
The Department extends heartfelt gratitude to the Anganawadi teacher Mrs Varalakshmi for providing the platform to empower ASHA workers with breastfeeding knowledge.
